Privacy Policy

Paw Check is built to need as little of your data as possible. No accounts, no emails, no tracking pixels, no analytics SDKs.
What we collect
- Nothing, by default. Material and ingredient scoring runs entirely inside your browser. The product page content never leaves your machine.
- When you run a full check: the product name, brand and stated materials of that one product are sent to our server (Cloudflare Workers) to query public recall and cruelty-free databases. We do not send your browsing history, the page URL, or anything else.
- A random install ID: generated locally to enforce the free daily-check limit. It is not linked to your identity and resets if you reinstall.
- Paid licenses: if you buy a license, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your payment details. We never see your card number. We store the license key and the email it was issued to so we can re-send it to you.
What we don't do
- No selling, sharing or renting of any data. Ever.
- No advertising or third-party trackers.
- No reading of pages other than supported pet-product pages.
Caching
Product check results (recall status, cruelty-free status) are cached on our servers for up to 7 days keyed by product name and brand, never by who asked.
Third-party services
Full checks query: the U.S. FDA enforcement database, CPSC recall database, PETA's published cruelty-free list, Open Pet Food Facts, and (paid tier) Google's Gemini API for AI analysis of the product's stated materials. Only the product information described above is shared with these services.
Your rights
Since we hold essentially no personal data, there is little to request. If you bought a license and want your email removed, contact us and it's done within 30 days.
